China unicom will buy 3g iPhones to sale in China market.Chairman Chang Xiaobing said Friday that China Unicom will offer subsidies to customers who buy the handset, but he didn't elaborate on the amount.
China Unicom the company aims to take more than one-third of China's third-generation mobile market next year. It expects 3G users will make up 20% of China's mobile market in 2010.
The iPhones to be offered in China won't have Wi-Fi capability. Wang said he expects iPhones to boost the company's average revenue per user, while Chief Financial Officer Tong Jilu said the company expects its net profit to stabilize in the second half.
