China auto sales january 2010 grow rapidly

China auto sales january 2010 grow rapidly to a monthly record of 1.66 million vehicles.China auto sales january 2010 more than doubled from a year earlier, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers said Tuesday. Executives at auto manufacturers have said they expect 2010 sales growth in China to slow to 10%-15%. Last year, China's vehicle sales rose nearly 50% to 13.6 million units, as the country overtook the U.S. as the world's largest auto market.

China auto sales january 2010 grow rapidly Statistics from China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) shows that in January, keeping the rapid growth momentum in December, 2009, China's auto output and sales volume reached 1.6148 million and 1.6642 million sets respectively, increasing 5 percent and 17 percent than that of last month and having a year-on-year growth rate of 143 percent and 124 percent. As the lower output and sales volume over the same period last year, the year-on-year total output and sales volume of autos in January has increased more than twice, and all auto types have increased by more than 70 percent.

China has been a bright spot for auto makers, who have faced weak demand in developed markets.

China auto sales january 2010 grow rapidly Mercedes-Benz (China) Ltd., a unit of Daimler AG of Germany, said Tuesday its January sales in China more than doubled to 8,120 vehicles.

Last week, General Motors Co. said its January sales in China rose 97% to 219,192 vehicles, while Toyota Motor Corp. of Japan said its sales in China rose 53% to 72,000 vehicles in January. Ford Motor Co. said its passenger-vehicle sales in China more than doubled last month to 30,759 vehicles.
